What’s so special
In the early 1970’s Breitling was falling on extremely difficult times. Caught in the middle of the quartz crisis and still tooled up to manufacture sophisticated high end chronographs, Breitling was headed for bankruptcy. In the late 1970s Sicura bought Breitling. It was simple, affordable watches like this example that probably saved Breitling from becoming just another defunct pre-quartz era Swiss watch company.
Why SWC loves it
An absolute workhorse with more character than your typical “skin diver”. These Sicura dive watches have some of the coolest dials of the era and a robust, easily serviceable movement.
