What’s so special
The US Government frequently issued requests to private manufacturers to supply equipment to troops. The MIL-W-46374 specification was one of the longest standing specs for military watches spanning from 1967 to the early 80s. The spec required a watch having an accuracy rate of 30 seconds, a minimum of fifteen jewels, luminous dial and hands, sweep second hand, second hand stop mechanism, and fabric strap. Enter the Benrus MIL-W-46374. For the 50th anniversary of D-day Benrus produced a limited run of these MIL-W-46374 reissues featuring an upgraded movement, removable case back, and drilled lugs for easy strap changes.
Why SWC loves it
Simple, easy to read, effective. There’s no finer example of a military issue watch than the Benrus Mil-spec. These reissues are particularly great because of their ease of servicing and regulation with the removable case back vs the original front loading military issue. This example is powered by the ETA 2801-2, a dead simple, extremely accurate, high beat caliber running at 28800 bph with a hackable seconds hand. Built to last forever, your grandkid’s grandkids will fight over this one.
