What’s so special
During the Vietnam war the US government issued a request to private US manufacturers to supply equipment to troops. The MIL-W-3818B specification was one of the longest standing specs for military watches spanning from 1967 to the early 80s. The spec required a watch having an accuracy rate of 30 seconds, a minimum of fifteen jewels, luminous dial and hands, sweep second hand, second hand stop mechanism, and fabric strap. Enter the Benrus Military spec field watch.
Why SWC loves it
Simple, easy to read, effective. There’s no finer example of a military issue watch than the Benrus Mil-spec. We particularly love the 24 hour dial which is fantastic for learning that “seventeen-hundred” is happy hour. This example is powered by the ETA 2372 based Benrus caliber DR 2F2. A dead simple, extremely accurate caliber running at 18,600 bph with a hackable seconds hand. Built to last forever, your grandkid’s grandkids will fight over this one.
